Worth Watching: NFL to release 2009 schedule
If you want to know everything there is to know about the NFL’s 2009 regular-season schedule, including where Broncos coach Josh McDaniels makes his debut and exiled quarterback Jay Cutler opens up for the Bears, choose between the NFL Network and ESPN on Tuesday.
The NFL Network will announce and analyze the entire schedule during a two-hour NFL Total Access: 2009 Schedule Release show beginning at 5 p.m. MDT.
And NFL.com claims it will be the first site to have the complete team-by-team and weekly schedules of all 256 regular-season games. NFL.com also plans interactive components, including chats, fan forums and poll questions.
The NFL Network’s special will feature host Rich Eisen and in-studio analysts Steve Mariucci, Marshall Faulk, Brian Billick, Jamie Dukes, onetime University of Colorado defensive back Solomon Wilcots and former Bucs general manager Bruce Allen, plus other special guests including former Chiefs general manager Carl Peterson.
Broncos safety Brian Dawkins and former Colorado State linebacker Joey Porter (Miami Dolphins) are two of the current NFL players expected to participate in ESPN’s three-hour SportsCenter Special on Tuesday (5 p.m. MDT) that will cover the schedule.
The first hour will air on ESPN2, and the program will continue from 6-8 p.m. on ESPN. Trey Wingo will host with analysts Ron Jaworski, Trent Dilfer, Merril Hoge and Tim Hasselbeck.
Other NFL players expected to appear include DeMarcus Ware (Dallas Cowboys), Richard Seymour (New England Patriots) and Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes (Pittsburgh Steelers).
