"Society’s rejection of smokers in the past 20 years rivals the human injustice of slavery. And please give me credit for not invoking Hitler in this response."

It'd be nice if we were able to have our rights back as smokers. I hope you're right about the 20 years of injustice.

The Smoker Rebellion is still underground, but it will gather force and take over society. Soon enough, people will be required to smoke in public. The tobacco taxes will be repealed. To make up for the lost revenue, the government will sell exemptions to the mandatory smoking law.

Don't wish to smoke in your car? OK, that will be $300 per year. Same for your house, and so on.

We'll start by recruiting youngsters and making smoking glamorous in the movies and in literature.

Society's rejection of smokers in the past 20 years rivals the human injustice of slavery. And please give me credit for not invoking Hitler in this response.

Smoke on, brothers.

I was the manager of one of the now defunct cigar shops in Denver. Between taxes, high rent (Cherry Creek) and a lack of parking, the owner decided to close.
This was more than just a cigar shop. This was a place where people from all walks of life came to socialize. The CEO and the local plumber, would sit and discuss the events of the day. Business got done, new contacts were made and old friends unwound.
At the end of the day. This was a small business. Someone's life. Selling a legal product, to be enjoyed by adults.
You may not like cigars. That's fine, but be respectful of those who do.

Another great way for the government to intrude into our personal lives. I don't smoke and never have but I do enjoy the smell of pipe tobacco and visit a tobacco shop in town where I live to talk to the owner. He too is worried that he will not be in business much longer.
