Rumors fly that Broncos are available for purchase

The fact that the Rams have found a buyer reminded me of a rumor that snaked its way through the grapevine last week.
There’s talk that the Denver Broncos could be available to be purchased from current owner Pat Bowlen.
And there’s a connection between the Rams and the Broncos. If Shahid Khan will be buying not only the 60 percent of the Rams currently held by Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez but also the 40 percent owned by Stan Kroenke, Kroenke could couple the cash he gets from Shahid with a chunk of his wife’s Wal-Mart money and purchase the Broncos.
Kroenke already owns the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche and the NBA’s Denver Nuggets. He reportedly was interested in acquiring controlling interest in the Rams, but the league’s cross-ownership rules require teams in multiple leagues to be located in the same market.
We need to be clear on this one. We’re not saying that the Broncos are for sale; we’re saying that there’s a rumor they’re for sale. And we’re speculating that Kroenke could be interested, especially if he’s cashing out his chips in St. Louis.

That would be a big change! But if you look at the success of the Avs and Nuggets of late you know he is the kind of man to make positive choices and moves to help teams win. Bowlen has been amazing but change can be a good thing. Plus this guy has the $$$ to make things happen so……
Yea right. Honestly I don’t see Bowlen selling to anyone, even at a profit. He’s going to own this team until he passes away unless he becomes bankrupt (not likely since they’re now worth around $815 million- 6th of ALL FRANCHISES IN ALL LEAGUES, or is offered double or triple what they’re worth. Since the top team is only worth $1.1 billion, and if I would put my GM hat on and ask for at least $1 billion, its just not going to happen. Why would Bowlen even sell a share in it?
Don’t get me wrong- Mr. Kroenke has done great things with the Nuggets and Av’s, and for the city of Denver and the state of Colorado, and it is VERY appreciated. I was so sick of the Nuggies being the bottom-tier team in the league for decades, but he’ll have better luck going after another franchise. He’s a very smart businessman, and IMHO he was looking for a bargain to increase it’s value- the Broncos are just not what a smart businessman would look for unless it was offered up.
