Pub company opens 14th metro-area bar

Little Pub Co. has opened its 14th bar in the metro area with the grand opening of Doghouse Tavern in the Bear Valley Shopping Center at the intersection of West Hampden Avenue and South Sheridan Boulevard in Denver. The new pub occupies the space that was formerly the Bear Valley Inn.

As the name implies, Doghouse Tavern will pay homage to man’s best friend. The pub encourages patrons to bring in photos of their canine companions to post on the walls. Dogs are welcome on the patio, where water bowls will be abundant.

Doghouse Tavern models itself after Bear Valley Inn’s legacy as a popular community establishment that provides good food and drink at affordable prices in a friendly, neighborhood spot.

“My brother lives in the Sheridan neighborhood and has been after us to open a pub in that area,” said Little Pub Co. owner Mark Berzins. “We look forward to filling the void that was left when the BVI closed.”

Doghouse Tavern will feature traditional pub fare with specialty dishes such as a smoked brisket and cheddar sandwich, green chili, buttermilk fried chicken and The Big Corn Dog.

This will be on the list of places my wife, Tucker (black lab), and I will visit when we get to Denver! A dog friendly bar, very cool.
