The Johnstown Breeze, owned by Matt Lubich and Lesli Bangert, went to a paid model in August of 2009. You're welcome Dean and Rupert.... Somebody had to do it first. While MediaNews and Rupert Murdoch dither like old women about whether they will go “pay” or not, an INDEPENDENTLY OWNED NEWSPAPER right here in northern Colorado has already broken the trail for its corporate cousins.
