McDaniels drops F Bomb during the game, NFL Network asleep at the wheel
With most of the country on the couch, digesting the gluttony of the day, the NFL Network showed its continued ineptitude.
Early in the first quarter, following the Broncos’ penalty laden, red zone drive, where the offensive line committed three penalties, forcing the Broncos to settle for yet another field goal, the NFL Network returned from a commercial break to show a clip (yes, a pre-recorded clip) of Broncos’ coach, Josh McDaniels’ sideline tirade.
After the game, McDaniels responded to the NFL Network’s mistake (for which they immediately apologized on-air), saying, “It’s the NFL Network. It doesn’t surprise me.” You figure someone would have previewed the sound before giving it clearance on-air. If they didn’t I’m guessing a suspension or firing is in line, unfortunately.
In an interview with The Associated Press and the Denver Post, Eric Weinberger, executive producer of the NFL Network, apologized to viewers and McDaniels for the “terrible mistake.”
“It was on delay. We wish we would have caught it and bleeped it,” Weinberger said. “We apologize for ever airing anything like that, absolutely, especially on Thanksgiving.”
Weinberger added, “Everyone (watching on TV) thought it was live because it was in live speed and it looked live. It came out of the truck. Honestly, we would never go live and raise audio levels on anyone live. On the sidelines, we would never do that. We came out of break and rolled it. It’s a mistake. We are sorry.”
Yes, it was recorded, yes it should have been caught, and, as Weinberger says, it wasn’t.

Great game coach.
It’s amazing how a sound clip during the game could be an internet sensation.
