Man found dead after traffic stop

A man died of a gunshot wound Thursday night in a Montrose parking lot and was found with a rifle at his feet, the Montrose Daily Press reports. According to the story, police said the man drove away from a traffic stop and was followed by an officer, and police chief Tom Chinn said it appeared that the shot was not fired by the officer.
