KBCO to leave Boulder for new studio in Denver Tech Center

Boulder’s KBCO radio station will be moving to a new studio in Clear Channel’s Denver Tech Center complex this spring, program manager Scott Arbough said Thursday.

Arbough said the station, founded in 1977 and now owned by Texas-based radio giant Clear Channel, will remain a Boulder station, despite having its studio in south Denver.

“It still is a Boulder station,” Arbough said. “We’re still licensed here. Most of us live here, and none of us plan to move, at least as far as I know.”

Former deejay and program director Dennis Constantine, who helped found the station and left in 1993, was stunned by the news when reached in Portland, Ore., on Thursday evening.

“You’re kidding,” he said. “That’s disgusting.”

Are you freakin’ kidding me?!? That is just ridiculous. How can KBCO be KBCO in the high stress, left brained, traffic congested Tech Center? We all know it is all about money, but come on!
