The Northwest Division-leading Avalanche had gone 1-4-1 in their previous six games and lost two in a row at home after winning their first six on home ice.
Danny Briere had two goals and two assists for the Flyers, who have lost three in a row and have one game remaining on a five-game road trip, Wednesday against the New York Islanders.
The Avalanche lost their previous two games on the road after squandering two-goal leads and let a 2-0 advantage get away Monday before connecting for three consecutive goals in the second period to build a 5-2 lead.
The Flyers nearly came all the way back with third-period goals from Briere and Jeff Carter, who scored his second goal of the game on a power play with 4:39 remaining.
