Iran convicts American journalist of spying
Iran has sentenced an Iranian-American journalist to eight years in prison for allegedly spying for the U.S., The New York Times reports.
Roxana Saberi, 31, who has worked for Fox News, NPR and the BBC, was originally accused of buying alcohol when she was arrested in January, then charged with working as a journalist without a valid press card. Her lawyer said he will file an appeal.
