Huckabee: ObamaCare wouldn’t cover Ted Kennedy

s-HUCK-large.jpgFormer Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee claimed Friday that under the health-care plan proposed by President Barack Obama, Sen. Ted Kennedy would have been told to “go home to take pain pills and die” after he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Huckabee made the remark during his radio show Friday while accusing Democrats of trying to use Kennedy’s death to marshal support for the president’s reform package.

“Senator Ted Kennedy’s death had barely hit the news before we started hearing calls that Congress must hurry and pass a health care reform bill and do it in his memory,” he said. “That not only defies good taste, it defies logic.”

“We certainly can and should respect his years of advocacy and work for the things that he truly believed in,” he added. “But easily the worst reason to do it is in the name of someone who gave us the most shining example of why this particular bill is so bad.”

Huckabee then said that seniors would be denied health coverage toward the end of their lives under Obama’s plan, something the former Republican presidential candidate claimed Kennedy would have been subject to as well.

While what Huckabee says is true, the fact is Kennedy and the ruling elite would never have themselves included in with the masses of common man.

    Gene,

What amazes me is the people that beg for something from those that think they have it to give, which those that believe they can give would or will not even have for themselves. The poor self esteem that these beggars exhibit is saddening. Yet it is great to see those that only want the best for themselves and then go about finding ways to produce and procure it for themselves, not relying on others. That is what makes and made the USA great and I see enough of it yet that I have hope for the future.

Yawn…I for one say, tax me more for a public option if that is what it takes. At least I will agree where these tax dollars are going and not where my other tax dollars have went. If one wants to use the current tax dollars, then, well, re-allocate the dollars in the current budgets for other programs like a public option. And as far as what has made this country great, many items have, one to include Americans fighting for American civil liberties/rights.

Oh yeah, Mr. Huckabee is still around, yawn. :)

    Gene,

That %62 is a little more than the %57 of Americans that currently say all congress should be replaced. For those that are missing out on the current revolution, this replacement would include republicans, independents, and other party affiliations in addition to democrats.
