High fashion takes a dive

A recent arrival that made a big impact on Denver’s fashion scene has gone belly up.

Sarah, the boutique on South Gaylord Street owned by Sarah Penewell, is closing. The store’s final sale begins at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Only three years old, Sarah received awards from 5280 and Westword for its sophisticated offerings. Just this month, its sales were featured as a way to get high fashion on the down-low in 5280’s “Great Stuff Cheap” issue.

The store is closed Wednesday to prepare for the sale.
