Ed Stein: Casualties
The President, after months of deliberating, will soon announce his decision about how this country will wage war against the Taliban and al Quaeda in Afghanistan. By all accounts, he was deeply moved by the memorial ceremony at Fort Hood, and by the sacrifices our soldiers make in protecting this nation. I hope that he was moved enough to consider the human cost of escalating the conflict in Afghanistan. It is hard to imagine any possible scenario in which we accomplish a lasting victory there, one that stabilizes that tragic country and that makes us safer at home. What is much easier to imagine is a stream of flag-draped coffins and horribly maimed young men and women returning home from an unending series of fruitless battles in pursuit of the impossible dream of generals and politicians.

Lefties like Ed Stein and our president are being protected by our brave soldiers. Let’s just accept the lefties don’t have a clue. Save our outrage at their ungrateful actions. I know neither of you will probably read this but just in case. Gene, you mentioned Obama is a socialist. From this point, I shall assume it’s a bad thing.
If you dislike socialism so much then do the following:
1. Get rid of public schools, only private schools allowed. Public school system is from socialism.
2. Get rid of the library system. Originated from socialism.
3. Get rid of public utilities including water and electricity and let companies decide how much we pay. Once again, this is a form of socialism.
4. Get rid of RTD and all mass transit. This is yet again another form of socialism.
