What’s happened to Israel? It used to be so adept at playing the game of international diplomacy. The latest in-your-face affront to Vice President Biden, the announcement that Israel intends to build more settlements in the disputed areas of East Jerusalem, coinciding with Vice President Biden’s visit to the Mideast, was a direct and deliberate affront, and a not-so-subtle repudiation of U.S. efforts to restart the peace process. It may well be that Israel, with no legitimate negotiating partner and seeing little hope of genuine progress, has decided to go it alone and handle its own security issues as it sees fit, even if that means endless occupation of an angry and growing Palestinian population and enduring the constant threat of terrorism. Even if that’s true, previous generations of Israeli leaders would have found a way to do so without insulting their best (and just about their only remaining) ally in the world.
The fallout was immediate, and the rebukes from U.S. leaders unusually–if deservedly– harsh. Now we hear from General Petraeus, openly questioning whether our unwavering commitment to Israel is really in our best interests. So far, I haven’t heard anyone in the government ask him to take back his comments. The Israeli leadership should rightly fear that this country might not be so willing in the future to accept whatever Israel does, especially when it’s accompanied by a slap in the face.

Well Gene, I could only read the first couple of paragraph’s of that article before I started puking in my mouth uncontrollably but for a second there I thought that Art wrote that article but there weren’t any misspelled words so it couldn’t have been him.

Please go back and read the rest. That is the beauty of it. The guy is taking it to Obama. He does not like Obama. The article is written tongue-in-cheek. I hate to spoil it for those who have not read it, but the guy compares Obama to Hitler. – In that it took the excesses of Hitler to spoil it for the Social Democrats (or whatever his party was called) just like Obama is doing in liberalism that has prospered for the last 100 years. He may be a little too long in the timeline, but you get the point. He loves Obama because Obama has brought an end to liberalism. Obama’s excesses have ended liberalislm. Again he may be jumping to conclusions, but you get the point. I really hope Art reads it also. The funny part of the whole thing, is The Aspen Times printed it. Probably the most liberal paper in the state, well next to Boulder. If that is happening, there is hope for humanity and reason and the common man (Art) !!!
it is so good to see this smart man in aspen talk about obama being 100 years ahead. like gene says obama is making the sociable ways the highlites of the usa. it is abotu time us for the good acts of hope and change are shown how smart we are.
you can also see that he gives those poor folks in palistine good treatments while those other people over there are amde to be nice.

Why does Obama cabal of Biden/Clinton go out of their way to attack Israel?
Why does the world look so different to some people? Common people can get a totally different and more rational take on middle east politics over at the PowerLine Blog. Their thought is not encumbered with modern liberal prejudice against America. I think that is the basis for the new anti-Semitism.

it is because of the hope and change of having better realtions with all world race people, obama is trying to teach those semite race people about their nuclear stock piles. and having the third infitada. these should not be and obama wantd them to stop. also obama does not like the race people of semite to not show up for peace talks for 14 months.

Whatever Der Stein uses to divert attention away from the TAKEOVER OF AMERICA by Obamaism that is going on in Washington DC at this very moment . . it is not working. Guys like Gary Hubbell: The Redneck tree hugger in The Aspen Times are able to show people the big picture. You yourself, and me here in our humble way are able to get a thought out that can be picked up anywhere in the world . . anyone that has a hunger for the true picture of what is going on. Obama tries to get us to hate Jews and hate insurance companies, hate anyone richer than ourselves. It is the radical take over of America. If the new health insurance bill passes it will bankrupt the country and put people like Mary into much worse health insurance positions. The destruction of America is taking place. Obama wants you to think the nasty Republicans want to keep things away from you. Der Stein believes it is the Jews fault. Do we have to go through what the very intelligent Germans did under Hitler? Do we not learn from history? Der Stein even is against the textbooks telling children the true history of our country.
WAKE UP AMERICA . . . stop these people from turning us into a third world country.
