CU to challenge Churchill's efforts to get job back

The University of Colorado will challenge former ethnic studies professor Ward Churchill’s effort to get his job back, the Daily Camera reports.

CU stands by its findings that Churchill engaged in academic misconduct, Ken McConnellogue, spokesman for the CU system, told the Camera.

Last week, a Denver jury found that CU unlawfully fired Churchill for expressing his political beliefs and awarded him $1 in damages in his civil lawsuit. At issue in the lawsuit was whether a statement Churchill made in an essay comparing victims of the 9/11 attacks to Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann played a role in CU’s decision to fire the professor.
