Crazy for Cutler
The “Fire McDaniels” campaign is well under way, and admittedly I’m on board. My yard doesn’t look anything like this, but that doesn’t mean that the thought hasn’t crossed my mind. It’s hard to watch the demise of a franchise whose fans are the most passionate in the NFL. All of you deserved better than the last three months of this total train wreck. I was listening to Sandy Clough on 104.3 The Fan on the way home today and agreeing with almost everything he said. (Just a *note*, that isn’t always the case). I also agreed with one of his callers. This will set the Broncos back decades. Want to see what the 2009 Broncos season will look like. Go back to about 1964. That’s how much damage has been done. I think the quotes from John Elway a week ago were appropriate. This is indeed a sad time for one of the NFL’s best franchises.

No, Drew – tell us what you really think!
Seriously, though, it is sad to see such an implosion. I’m not a football fan in particular, but I am very much a Denver fan, and proud of all things Denver. It is disheartening to see one of our most internationally visible symbols disintegrate.
It was sad to see such talent go but it was obvious from the moment Shanny got canned Jay wanted out….The Broncos will rise from the ashes and be a contender in the next few years though, there is so much to look forward to: Our O-Line is young and hyper talented, amazing receivers, a few young defensive stude (with more on the way), and two new schemes to break the moldof a decade of just average play, this is a great time to be a fan……Go Broncos!!
PS….Love the cartoon!!!!
Oh please, like Jaby was some god of perfection. Bottom line: the kid, for *whatever reason*, got bent out of shape and pouted his way out of town.
Is that the kind of guy you want leading your team?
Not me.
Sad to see you get to the “you kids git offn muh lawn!!” stage, Drew.
I was a Shannahan fan, and a Jay Cutler fan. However if I am supposed to give Obalma a chance, I sure as heck am going to give Pat Bolan a chance. He is no dummy.
Drew,
if that is you in the cartoon pounding in the sign, is your wife in the doorway the Barrel Man? Looks like what she is wearing!! Discreetly topless and all.
Not only does this not set Denver back decades, it will allow them to rebuild the defense that Shanahan destroyed much faster. If Orton and Simms don’t work out, then Denver has two first rounders to use to go get Colt McCoy or Sam Bradford out of next years draft. At least 90% of the blame for this sits on Baby Jay Cutlers shoulders. When they fired Shanahan and Jeremy Bates, Cutler demanded a trade. When Denver tried to trade him for Cassel then he threw the biggest hissy fit of all time. Cutler says that he has the strongest arm in football and that his arm is stronger than John Elways….Well not only is Jay Cutler no John Elway…hes not even in the same realm as Jake Plummer and he barely qualifies above Brian Griese. Seriously, 25 TD’s and 18 picks….hes not anyones franchise quarterback and I am glad hes gone.
