Olympics or Tiger, Tiger or Olympics. I’m looking forward to March. Though the USA hockey team has kept it interesting. How about you. Any favorite moments from this years Games?
Join me tomorrow for some thoughts about the last days of the Rocky Mountain News, the paper I worked for that ceased publication a year ago today.

This is my Tiger Woods cartoon Part 2. Yesterdays poll was pretty telling. My favorite summation of the whole thing comes from Drew Crew member Sherrie Escue. She said “His apology was about as sincere as his wedding vows.” Sherrie, I couldn’t have said it any better.

This was so much fun I think I’ll show you another one on Sunday. In the meantime Here’s a poll for you.

As Tiger heads out to sea in his private yacht with his tail between his legs I’m astonished at the way he has handled this whole affair (or affairs as the case may be). And here’s the worst part of it. As he sails off to the Bahama’s he and his team of lawyers are preparing for a custody battle that will rival anything we have ever seen. Clearly being with his kids isn’t a priority right now however. No, instead, he’s off on some fraternity-like road trip to get away from it all, not manning up about his mistakes and running like the weasel he’s become. Tiger? No, more like a mouse.

Here’s the deal. Kids. what do you tell them? How do you explain the whole fiasco to an 8 year old who adores Tiger Woods and golf. Such is the dilemma when athletes from high pedestals plummet to earth like a wounded duck. And now all the whispers about human growth hormones and, you know, what’s next? He ran over Santa Claus with the Escalade. I wouldn’t doubt it at this point.

A Doubleheader

It doesn’t happen often but today I’m giving you two for the price of one. I simply had to weigh in on the Tiger Woods announcement that he is leaving the PGA tour indefinitely. Nice of him to drop the huge news bomb at 7 p.m. ET on a Friday. I’m sure the PGA especially appreciated it. Tiger is losing sponsors almost as often as new flings emerge from Tigers apparently very full closet. It’s not so good for golf, Tiger, and the world of advertising. But man, is it ever fun for a cartoonist. Let me know what you all think about Tiger.

And below is another cartoon from yesterdays Bronco-Colts game. I always liked the saying let’s play two.

I actually debated on whether or not I wanted to do a Tiger Woods cartoon. I just didn’t want to do the usual “drive” gag cartoon idea. 9News asked me give it a thought and this is what I arrived at.

The whole story is tragic. And the way we look at Tiger will never ever be the same.
