Broncos Trade for Quarterback Brady Quinn
The Denver Broncos have a little competition at quarterback now. Sort of.
On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns parted ways with 2007 first round pick Brady Quinn by way of a trade with Denver. The Broncos get a quarterback who has started sporadically over the last three years, never quite living up to the billing he received as a the second quarterback taken behind another, more popular bust, Jamarcus Russell.
Denver gave up only a 2011 sixth-round selection, a 2012 conditional pick, and often-publicized, never utilized running back Peyton Hillis.
Quinn will likely compete for the backup job in Denver with second year player Tom Brandstater behind Kyle Orton, but in an offseason that’s seen nearly as much movement from Josh McDaniel and co. as last year’s, it’s hard to say exactly what kind of role Quinn will play. There’s an outside shot he’ll be in the mix to start.
Quinn was a top prospect coming out of Notre Dame in 2007 after blossoming in his senior year under quarterbacks and offensive guru Charlie Weis, now the offensive coordinator for the divisional rival Kansas City Chiefs. He’s been criticized for lack of accuracy throughout his career, but never had much consistency in the coaching department. He’s certainly worth the junk picks given up to attain him.
I just hope Denver wore a condom.

Nice pick-up with great potential and upside…right on GO BRONCOS!!!
I’m wondering if Hunter Ansley is still thinking this is an awesome trade?
